Bible Lesson 178

“Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people” Proverbs 14:34

“Little by Little sin is made to appear less sinful. We are being homogenized, absorbed, assimilated into this age. We accept its literature, its music, its art, its language, without inner or outer protest although we are told to hate evil, abhor evil, abstain from the very appearance of evil.” Vance Havner

I want to take this opportunity to add to Vance Havner’s quote above, that we have also accepted this age’s politics, which makes it so easy to brain wash those who should know better. It boggles the mind to see so many people who have opened their minds to the point that nothing registers for them. They are happy to live their lives as dependent upon the government and it’s hand-outs for parasites. I am speaking of good people who were a few years ago independent and who were willing to work and make their own way; however today they appear like minions of every slick talking liar that gets his mug on television.

If you think that I am wrong just put your mind in gear and take a good hard look at what is going on around you. America, the place that Jehovah God gave to us in order to have a place where God’s moral law was known and obeyed, is on the verge of becoming a third-world country. We have lost the respect of other countries because we began to as others have said “dance around the mulberry bush”; and by that I mean we have lost our direction and our connection.

We are a wishy-washy nation led by some who are only out for self aggrandizement and their motto seems to be ‘what’s in it for me.’ We have no clear direction because we are not determined to be a powerful nation. We have lost our connection to God and we have no moral base. We are a people who have leaders who would cut us off at the roots and we are already adrift in a sea of malaise. America is in deep trouble because we, who were once known as a good and godly people are now seemingly proud to be seen as a godless nation.

Having said that, I would pose a question to those who read this lesson, and the question is’. are you concerned or not’ Do you care that there are people who are sucking the, hard won and blood bought freedom, out of this once proud country’ Why is it that there is hardly a day that passes when we are not appraised of another serious incident of cheating, breaking the laws of our constitution, mayhem and murder by people who are part and parcel of the administration that is in charge of all the problems in our government.

It breaks the hearts of those who are advanced in age and have seen this country go for months at a time without a serious incident involving some poverty-pimp that draws a fat government salary. It is maddening that no one ever seems to reap the just consequences for their breaking of the law. We were once proud to brag about America being a country of laws but not today, we seem happy today to be known as a country who has set laws aside and that never really punishes law breakers. We have devolved from that generation that was called the greatest generation because they were willing to work, suffer, and even die to defend America.

Today about the best that we can generate is mostly whiney, excuse making, complainers who want to waste America’s greatness for their idea of being free, which means that they are free from work, free from suffering, and free from anything that would cause them to perspire! So what is the answer to our problem’ It is simple, we must stop treading the road we have been on for the last few years, turn around and take stock of our lives and our country, and see ourselves for who and what we really are’.then we must repent and turn back to the God of our fathers. Please understand that I am not talking about religion here. Religion is what man can do for God and that is not anything worthwhile: What I am speaking of here is Christianity, the worship of the Creator God Jehovah, the God of the Bible. Our country’s form of Government was founded over 200 years ago, by men who were moral and who had good intentions for this young nation and it’s people. Those who would diminish our country and who have led it to the precipice that we now balance upon, are in the Word of the Bible, pagans. We might as well face it and ourselves; because most American’s today are not part of the solution to our problem; but instead they are the problem! America was founded upon Christ and Christians principles, in fact you could overlay the Ten Commandments on the original constitution and it’s by laws; and you would find that they follow closely on the Ten Commandments. It would do some of those who want to do away with our Bible and our God and our Constitution, if they were to be forced to keep their eyes open, and be led through our Capital in Washington. They would see on the building that houses the U.S. Supreme Court, on the very top of the front of that building there is a row of the World’s law givers and each one is facing the man in the middle, who is Moses. Moses, you may or may not know is the man who God gave the Ten Commandments (etched by the finger of God into stone tablets), to. Go inside and you will see as you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, on the huge oak doors, they both have the Commandments engraved on their lower portions. Take a seat and look around, on the wall right above where the judges sit, the Ten Commandments are displayed. Not only that but there are verses from the Bible etched in stone all over the Federal buildings and monuments there.

James Madison, America’s fourth president, and called the Father of our Constitution is known to have said, ” We have staked the whole of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God!” Notice that He placed the responsibility for our moral disciple upon ourselves’.not on the congress, or the Courts, or the President. We know from history, that fifty-two of the fifty-five founders of the constitution, were members in good standing of established Orthodox churches in the colonies. In the very beginning, Thomas Jefferson, worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and become social activists, who would have no problem, with making laws instead of interpreting the law. Over the past few, and I say very few years, we have seen judges, who have no respect for the law or for the country. We are being led to skip the parts of the law that we find a hindrance to our doing what we want to do, and we have been weakened in a moral, ethical, and physical sense. For anyone who wants to disagree with us; who love, honor, and serve the Creator God, I say, in love, get thee behind me Satan!

Now, that may sound too hard or judgmental for you who desire not to have any boundaries for your life, those who, like parasites, suck the life out of not only your family, but your state and nation by your hedonistic lifestyles. We have passed the point where preachers and churches and denominations and congregations can afford to whistle past the grave yard, as we never stand for the things of Christ, which are love, joy, peace and obedience to the laws of God and Country. We have to know that when the Churches of the Living God avoid the issues of life, we are inviting the devil and his minions to overrun our territory. America used to be a place where good people could worship and serve, and honor God, but we gave that up, just as Isaac gave up his inheritance for a bowl of porridge. The churches of our day, the visible church, has retreated, thrown down their arms, and surrendered to the devil’s people and joined them in their sin.

Brothers and Sisters we have failed our Lords command to put on the armor of God and make a stand against sin. (Ephesians 6:10-18), and having done all, STAND vs. 13b. It does no good to sit at home or your place of work and do no more than just think about what you should do, what we have to do is to stand up and challenge sin, call it what it is and apply the Word of God to it. Now, the Christian life was based on love; but love is more often like a slap in the face to those who are not saved. Our society has misused and abused what God called love. The world is filled with people who are lost, dead in trespass and sin, under the wrath of God, destined for hell, unless you and I confront their sin and give them the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We never confront sin and sinners, and we use the excuse that it would not be loving to do so. That is the excuse that we have been taught by preachers who either don’t know the Bible or who do not have the guts to preach the truth. Think about what you are doing by attempting to hide behind that kind of love. If we use that line of thinking, we miss the opportunity to tell them that there is a way out of their bonds of sin, that Christ loved them enough to die to redeem them. In doing that and blaming it on love we are allowing sinners to go to hell for eternity.

The vast majority of Church members today are not energized to witness the Good News of Christ and what He has done because of God’s grace. That is a good signal that those people are not saved because those who are truly saved have the Holy Spirit and He always energizes true Christians to tell the good news. No wonder that churches have begun to lose members by the dozens, unless they are willing to go after anyone and everyone who will agree to sign on. That’s the reason that churches look like the world today, it is because we have invited and even enticed the world and the worldly into our congregations. It is time that we woke up and realized that, instead of the church influencing the world for good; the world has influenced the church to look like the world. I know we like to act like all of our churches are truly on fire for God; but if we look closely at ourselves we are like the synagogue of Satan (Revelation 2:9).

It is true what someone said a few centuries ago about the visible church: “We are many but we are not much.” That proves that numbers do not make anything, other than a mob. Certainly Jesus Christ was not interested in numbers, what Christ wanted was those who would submit to God, bow their knee to the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and bear fruit for the Kingdom of God. Stop and think about your personal walk with God. Is it one where you talk about God and sing about God and hear about God on Sundays, but other days you are involved with the world’ That my friend, is religion and that is worth nothing except perhaps making you feel good about yourself. What God was about in sending His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross that He did not deserve: Was making ‘little Christ’s’, sinners being made Saints, and the world going in the path that God has laid out in the Bible. Salvation by Grace through Faith always produces a successful Christian, and they are always found obeying all the commands, and precepts that Christ left for us in The Word of God, the Bible.

2nd Corinthians 5:17 tells us “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.” Think about that as you read it again! It says,” therefore, if anyone has been born again (Ephesians 2:10), they are a new creature, Old things (sins)have passed away, behold, all things have become new.” It has been easy for preachers (false prophets) to teach that being saved doesn’t really mean much and in fact we are all still sinners. They make us believe that all of this takes place after we die, apparently. That is not what the Bible teaches. Yes, we were all born sinners ‘. Dead in trespass and sin; but when we have been saved (born from above), we are Saints (Romans 1:7). 2nd Corinthians 5:17, makes it plain that when we are born again, placed ‘in Christ’, we are new creatures and, because we have the Holy Spirit’s sealing we are instantly changed, radically changed and able to walk with God. It is true that there is nothing required of those who come to Christ, with broken and contrite hearts, to be saved. Nothing can be added to what Christ has already done; but once saved, we have a duty to God to obey all that He has commanded. Just imagine what we are believing when we believe that God doesn’t demand a radical change in the life of sinners who have been saved by the blood of Christ. That would be like you going to work for some plumbing company tomorrow and failing to work there, but instead working as a electrician every day and wanting the plumbing company to pay your wages.

That may sound crazy to you but, that is what a large percentage of church member today are doing. We never do anything except show up for services. We never witness because we are too lazy to know the Word of God, the Bible. We may think that we can use the excuse that most like to use and that is that they “live” their witness, but their lives are empty as far as anything Christ-like is concerned. You see, dear friend, you may fool some of the people some of the time and all of the people some of time; but you never fool God! God knows your heart, and your mind and He knows what you are doing and why you are doing it, before you do it. I tell you, sadly, that you will never be able to ‘jaw-bone’ God. You will never fool God about your life and you will answer to God for every word that comes out of your mouth, and every thought of your heart, (Matthew 12:36).

There is absolutely no way that you can ever accomplish what only God accomplished in sending Jesus Christ, His one and only Son, to the earth to die to save those who would obey (Hebrews 5:8-9). Your life must be under the blood of Jesus Christ for you to enter into heaven. There is no if’s and but’s about that! There is no other name or way or path or road to heaven except by the name and work of Jesus Christ and faith in that work to forgive our sin, (Act’s 4:12). The reason that our country America is in such dire straits has to be set squarely upon the shoulders of Americans who have gone astray and left their God and His remedy for sin. Sin has proven itself a reproach to any nation, and it manifests itself in how America looks today. For those of you in other countries around the world, your country is probably in worse shape than America; but the answer to your problem is the same as ours. We all must turn from sin, and that means to give it up and leave it alone, trusting in the person and work of Jesus Christ to redeem us from our sin. Jesus came to save us from ourselves, but we have thought that we did not need His work, and that is the root cause of demise of any country. Until next time’.think on these things and don’t stop there’.throw yourselves at His feet and take up your cross and move off the throne of your life and beg Jesus to take that seat. He is not simply our savior’He is Lord of our lives! Brobob.

Until next time,

may God bless and keep you
