Bible Lesson 199

HOW WE GOT HERE (Genesis Chapters 1&2)

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7
“Job says, ?My life is wind, my days are swifter than a weaver?s shuttle’ (Job 7:67)”

“The Psalmist compares life to a fading flower or a falling leaf” (Psalms103:15-16)
“Life is so short that the wood of the cradle rubs up tight against the marble of the tomb.” George Sweeting.

FROM THE WOMB TO THE TOMB: FROM LIFE TO DEATH/TO LIFE

In order to gain a correct understanding of our lives and the plan of God to shine His light into our darkness, we will begin at the beginning, back some Thousands of years (Probably 10 to 12 Thousands of years), to the Genesis (beginning) of time, and what we know as the creation. God has been, in all of eternity past, and still exists in eternity today. God gave us time, as a method of regulation of our lives; but God is eternal, self-existent, the cause and the source of all things, and time means nothing to Him.

Genesis tells us of the wonderful and marvelous things that God did by simply speaking them into being. It seem proper to state right here that God created all thing including mankind, in an order that everything was in place exactly when God was ready for the creation of His APEX creation, which was man, Adam. God created Adam from the dust of the earth and breathed life into Him. God then prepared a Garden, a Paradise, probably somewhere in or around Babylon. In that Garden (Garden of Eden) God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.

The Tree of Life was in the midst of the garden, as well as the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil; and the Garden was perfect for God’s man creature. God placed Adam there to ‘Tend and keep it’ and God commanded Adam to eat of any tree in the garden, with the exception of the Tree of the knowledge of Good and evil. Notice that God did not forbid Adam to eat of the Tree of Life, which would have given him eternal life. (Genesis 2:1-17).

We don’t know how long Adam was alone in the Garden of Eden, but remember as we move forward that Adam did not eat of the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil, while he was a bachelor there in the garden. Sometime later, God decided that it was not good for man to be alone. (Genesis2:18). Did God then rush to make Eve for Adam, no, He did not. Look at what He did, God then formed out of the ground every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them.

Whatever Adam called each living creature’ that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and every beast of the field. (Genesis 2:19-20). Then the Bible tells us that Adam did not find a helper comparable to Him! It seems that God was teaching His creature Adam that he was not to be classed as one of the animals’.he had named them so He would control them. With that established, God moved on to provide Adam with a helper that would complete him, one comparable to him.

We are told that God put Adam to sleep and took one of his ribs and made a woman. Note: The first Woman Eve, came out of the man, God took part of Adam, and made her. Adam was made male and Eve was made female, because it was God’s plan that they would produce children to populate the earth, and from that time until now women have produced all of God’s human creatures. In the Hebrew the word for man was (ish), and so Adam call Eve (Isha) or soft. Now we have God’s first couple, and we must remember that God brought Eve to Adam, and Adam said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man. We need to remember that we are dealing with the Word of God, From God’s Inspired, Inerrant, Bible, and whatever God has said in the Bible is to be considered a command. So we can read verse 24 of Chapter Two of Genesis, we can understand it, as God saying to us”. “I Command therefore that a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” God commands consummation of marriage in a sexual act, where husband and wife become one flesh. God’s ideal for marriage has always and will always be, one man and one woman for life. (Mark 10:4-9).

If we are serious about God and His eternal judgment, we must deal with the Truths as we get to them in the word of God. So the final word for Christians and the Church of the Living God, is that regardless of what the Supreme Court and the Administration says about it, those who will inherit heaven, will obey the Word and that states that it is one man and one woman joined in holy wedlock till death do them part. Adam and Eve were both created in the image of God. It is important that we remember that we do not look like God; however we were given some of the attributes of God, limited to our capacity of course. We are not Gods, but we have some of His attributes, which God suited to our frame. But let’s stick to our subject which is how God created you and me and Adam and Eve.

Of course Adam and Eve were special because, they were produced by God’s hands and their breath came directly from God. From Adam and Eve, children have been the result of a man and a woman becoming one flesh, and producing them. God had commanded that Adam and Eve, and we today, would produce children in order for God to be glorified. Let me get something that might cause some not to understand the Truth of God, and that is that Darwin, under the inspiration of Satan, cobbled together what we know today as evolution. I simply want to say to you that unless you have your head on straight, and understand the man is a far greater creation than Darwin or anybody else who believes his lie, could imagine. Darwin wants to say that man originally began with a single cell bug or worm, that over centuries moved somehow from one phase of life to another (from an Amoeba, to a tad pole, and from that to a mud-duck, and from that to a squid, and finally to a monkey, who one day was sitting in a tree eating a coconut, and slipped and fell out of the tree and knocked himself unconscious; and when he work up he was a man, who ran across the street and bought himself a three piece suit and a tie, and then took on a job teaching in one of our seminaries. I hope you don’t believe in evolution, because if you do the devil and Darwin are making a monkey out of you.

Back to God and Adam and Eve who were the only ones on the earth at that time. Let’s review what we have covered this far, God created everything, including Adam and Eve and placed Adam in the Garden, and then put Adam to sleep and took a rib and formed Eve. God gave Eve to Adam to become one flesh and since that time, everyone who has been born are children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of God. We, everyone, were born into Adam’s family, we all bear the nature of Adam. It turns out that Adam had a nature that was sinful, and that became evidenced when Eve was seduced by the serpent (snake) that had been possessed by Satan, and she then, caused Adam to eat. We know that Satan was not on the earth up until the time that He causes Eve to eat of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. We know that because when God finished His Creation, we see that God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. (.Genesis 1:31). What does Satan do when he is cast out of heaven to the earth’ He begins looking for someone to snare with one of his lies, to cause them to defy their God, since there were only two people in the Garden or on the earth, His choice had to be either Adam or Eve. The woman being the weaker vessel, Satan chose to deceive her.

If we study our Bibles, we know that as Satan was originally created by God, he was an angel, a special angel in heaven, whose name was Lucifer, meaning Son of the Morning or Day Star, who wanted to supplant God or take over God’s throne in heaven. The Bible tells us that “War broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer”. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, call the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; and his angels were cast of with him. Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night has been cast down.” (Revelation 12:7-10). Apparently Satan (Dragon) drew one third of the Angels (stars of heaven) with Him in his fall. (Revelation 12:4). These Angels have sealed their destiny, because they can never be forgiven of their sin, they will be consigned to hell, along with Satan (Matthew 25:41).

That should teach us all that God says what He means and means what He says. That the Bible is the place that God chose to lay out His plan that would allow His creatures to break the chains of sin and regain that right standing before Him that was broken in Adam our grandfather. It should teach us that Sin is what has caused the misery, evil and hatred in our world and that God will never tolerate sin. The Scriptures that we have covered in the lesson from Chapters One and Two of the Book of Genesis, prove and/or remind us of the Glory and power, and Grace and Mercy of our Great God Jehovah. God cannot be surprised, or tricked, or ambushed; because He knows everything that will ever happen, and He planned it and will use it to reach stiff-necked and hard-headed sinners with His love.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this lesson, this will continue in a series that will be designed to put us first, in our place! The gospel properly presented in context was given to humble the Pride of man, to exalt the grace of God in salvation and to promote real holiness in heart and life. As Sinners, which is where we begin in this world, we are born with Adams nature and it is sinful, and that means that we are born under the wrath of God, dead in trespass and sin ( Ephesians 2:1-3). As new born babies we carry the stain of Adam, and as we grow and mature we fill out and fill up that nature as we love to sin and persist in it. You have probably heard from the church and other sinners that God loves you as a sinner, that is not true and you must understand that before you will think you have any need for repentance and regeneration.

We have people now attempting to change the meaning of God’s Word and they go to great lengths to cause simple people to believe that God may hate sin but He loves the sinner. Be that as it may, if you read the Scriptures in context you will find that in the judgment, God will send sin and sinners to hell for eternity. I hope these lessons will deal with the truth in such a way that people will see their need to know God in the forgiveness of their sin and will come to live like Christ, and we can expect to see a new day in our lives, our families, our church, schools, states, and nation. Think on what you have read, check your Bibles, and seek to know the truth that will set you free. (John 8:31-32).

Until next time,

may God bless and keep you
