Bible Lesson 242

Biblical Truths about Jesus Christ

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

This month we will look into our Bibles and discover things about the Second Person of the Triune Godhead. Most already know this but just in case you have missed it. Our God is One God who manifests Himself to His creatures in three distinct personalities.

Father who is Spirit, Son who took upon Himself the form and flesh of mankind, who is Jesus Christ and then the Holy Spirit who works for us, in us and on us, in Salvation.

That should not be hard to understand. How blessed we are to have a God who Created us, and sustains us, and saves us, to guide and shepherd us through this sinful world that we have helped to create.

Jesus Christ is the mediator between man and God, and we can find Him mentioned in the very first book of our Bibles. In the Garden of Eden, after the fall of Adam and our sinful appetites when we are born to the flesh.

Remember, it was Eve who first sinned and then she caused her husband Adam to sin God at the time mentions Jesus Christ, when God said to the Serpent that tempted Eve, because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field: On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust all the days of your life.

And I will put enmity (they would be enemies), between you and the woman, and between your seed and Her Seed; He (Christ) shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel. Genesis 3:14-15.

This is the promise of our Savior Jesus Christ who would come and defeat Satan, Sin and the Grave, by dying on the cross as the Substitute for those who would die to self and take up their cross and follow Him. Jesus Christ died so that we may live, and He who was in heaven went through Hell, so that we could go to heaven.

He arose on the third day to assure us that we would one day be raised by that same power. All we now have to do to reap the benefits of all that Christ is, and what He did in dying on the cross that we deserved, is fall at the foot of His cross and confess our sinful life, and repent, and live ‘in Him, and by Him, and for Him’. Jesus must become our all and in all.

Jesus Christ ascended back into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father. He came to earth the first time to suffer and die, and He is coming again, perhaps tomorrow, or next month, and this time it will be in His Wrath and to udge the quick and the dead.

Do you know Him? If you don’t you will not be able to stand in the udgment, so seek to know Him, read the Bible and pray and ask God to save you. Remember there is no other name under heaven whereby we can be saved. Think about it!

esus left heaven where He had been for eternity (ohn 1:1-13), and came to this sin-sick world though the womb of a young ewish Virgin, and immediately upon His birth He was sought to be kill, but He was God in the flesh and so could not die until He completed His mission on earth, which was to die a cruel death as the substitute for those who would believe Him. Do you know Him?

Do you want to know Him? He is the only way to know God, so it behooves all of us to knock, seek, and ask in order to find the Truth and be saved for eternity. You will have to own your sin and repent of it before God.

Until next time,

may God bless and keep you
