Bible Lesson 250

The Lordship of Christ.

This month we are looking to our Bibles in the study of Lordship, which is a word that is arguably one which has many of us scratching our heads and wondering what Lordship means. We or at least most of us understand that there is a God, and that He is Omnipotent (All Powerful), which means that He is in complete control of everything and everyone.

If you are unaware of just how complete the control of Jesus Christ (God), is then consider this, God is in control of every atom that floats somewhere in our Cosmos. That means everything including your daily routine.

How does God control the thoughts, considerations and actions of billions of people who are scattered over the face of the earth’ That is covered in the word that we used in the third line of the first sentence of this lesson, and the word is Omnipotent.

Think about this, every person born in this world is a creature of God and we exist as body, mind and spirit, and all of these are responsive to Gods guidance. Even when we know what God would have us do, we many times would break away from his control and live as we desire; however God remains in control and we in effect, live out the plan that God has made for every man’s life.

If we remain obedient, we live a much more blessed life than we would if we attempted to put Gods will aside and go our own way.

How does God communicate with those who are alive today’ God communicates with His creatures by spiritual means, and by written ordinances (Bible), and sometimes by chastisements. Oh, I know that there are those who would say,” I’m in charge of my life and I’m the captain of my life “but that is whistling past the grave yard.

If you have thought that you could wrestle with God and win; take a few steps and see how bad your limp is. There are examples in the bible of people who thought they could escape from the responsibility of obeying what God has said. One of these is Jonah, who the Lord told to go into Nineveh, and preach to a people that Jonah did not like.

Jonah decided he would skip that command and ended up in the belly of a big fish, who spit him out to obey what God wanted to be done. Some of us today are still in the fish’s belly and we will remain there until we come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and begin to obey God in everything.

God speaks to us in Preaching, in study of the Bile and in prayers of those who love us and want the best in this life on the earth for us. The training ground for born again Christians is the study of God’s word. Not scanning its pages or reading through the Bible to receive a certificate from our church leaders.

We depend upon road maps to guide us to whatever destination we want to go, and we just depend upon the Bible to lead us to an eternal life that is promised to those who enter the strait gate, and walk the narrow way that leads to eternal life. The Bible has all of the road maps that need to find that pearl of great price.

Have you studied the Word of God as it is written for those who are serious about having the Lord as our “Boss”!

Once you begin to prove that Jesus Christ is worthy of being your Lord and mine, you will discover that first, we must know that He is, and second, we must know what He wants from us, and that is found in the Word of God.

You will find in the Bible several instances where creatures of God knew what the Boss wanted from them, and they did not obey. Adam and Eve for instance were told that they could eat of every tree in the Garden of Eden, but a snake (Satan), convinced them that they should disobey, and they ate; but lost life, home, and the walk they had with God.

That first couple had children Cain and Able. Cain took upon himself to disobey God and he killed his brother. God then sent him away to wander as a fugitive and a Vagabond. Yours truly has in a prior time of life has done much that was disobedient to the Lord, That is the reason that although God has blessed me beyond what I can imagine, I still remember where these knots on my head and others reminders I am living proof that Jesus Christ is the Best Lord any person could ever have.

If you do not know for sure that He is your Lord I have good news for you today. Would you like to know the best Lord any man, woman or child can have’ First let me ask you are you a sinner, and do you know it’ Are you tired of following Satan to death and hell’ Would you like to swap all of your old life and sin for that new man in Jesus Christ’

You have probably read in your Bible, that God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, from heaven to the earth to be nailed to the cross of sinners who were sick and tired of sin, and God recreates them New Creatures In Christ. That New Creature has been born from above and will now walk in newness of life.

That is what God requires and it is not negotiable. It is all of God, it is not of you. Once you have gained a knowledge of God and know what He wants from you, you fall at the feet of Jesus on the cross and receive Him into your life, counting what He did on the cross as sufficient to redeem you from sin and be your Lord from that day forward.

I recommend that you read and think about the following scripture: 2nd Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 3:10-18; Romans 6:1-14; Ephesians 2:1-10; 2nd Corinthians 5:21; Titus 2:11-14; Romans10:17.

Until next time,

may God bless and keep you
