Bible Lesson 254

What happens in true salvation? Ephesians 2:1-10

Salvation is a work of God in which God deals with a person who has been extended God’s amazing grace. Man does not find God, but God finds the creature that has been predestined to be saved and puts the old nature of that creature to death and re-births them anew. It costs the human recipient of Gods grace nothing however it cost God His Only Begotten Son who was God in the flesh.

Think about it! God created us and placed our parents in a beautiful garden (Eden), with only one condition placed on them and that condition was that they could eat of the fruit of every tree there, with the exception of the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil.

We don’t know how long they were in the garden before they fell by disobeying God command to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of Good and evil, but the devil influenced Eve to just take a little bite, and she gave it to Adam and he ate also and so lost the Garden and their commune with God and were thrown out of the Garden with some terrible consequences.

Read the second and third chapters of Genesis and ask yourself if you are not guilty of the same sort of obedience or disobedience that they displayed.

Certainly, they did not need that piece of fruit from that forbidden tree, but when the devil convinced Eve that God did not say, not to eat of it, she couldn’t see any reason to just take a bite!

God never says anything to us except what He means, and He always means what He says.

God immediately forced them out of the garden and into a world that had been corrupted and would resist them even get their daily food needs from it. Have you taken a bite of any forbidden fruit lately?

Be careful that you always obey what God says.

Until next time,

may God bless and keep you
