Bible Lesson 281

Holiness

Let’s begin by attempting to shine the light on just what Holiness means. First and foremost, holiness means a life of holiness and total devotion to God.

That does not sound very hard if you say it fast; but whether we want to believe it or not, holiness is a product that is almost non-existent in our country today. Over the last few years, we have allowed dust to collect and we have piled wordiness over much of what we consider holiness today! In fact, a  person who calls themselves holy today would end up being a laughingstock.

Too many of us adults today are attempting to hold on to our childhood, when in fact the times call for adults to step in and call cadence for the younger generation to march to.  Can anyone doubt that God requires Holiness from his people?

We must get past the stage where we think that belonging to some church group will get us into heaven. We should possibly have a course on holiness and begin by learning how to spell holiness. Then we can move on to developing our walk which should be one in which holiness comes first and foremost.

Being holy can be compared in some ways to learning to ride a bike, where you don’t just jump on and ride off into the night.  Being holy can only be accomplished by Gods Holy Spirit. So, make sure you are connected to God.

Until next time,

may God bless and keep you
